Council Approves Grant Submission to Help Fund Additional Generations Park at Boys Ranch Amenities

0Comments

During the July 12 City Council meeting, Council members voted in favor of submitting a grant application to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Local Parks Grant Program to help fund additional amenities at Generations Park at Boys Ranch. These amenities include:

  • Hike and Bike Trail Extension
  • Lighted Tennis Courts and Pickleball Courts with Restroom Facility
  • Playground Shade Structure
  • Disc Golf Course Extension
  • Picnic Tables and Benches

City staff will receive word in January whether the grant application has been approved. According to the grant program rules, the City cannot begin construction on these amenities in the meantime.

If the grant application is not approved, the City remains committed to finding a way to add these highly-requested amenities to Generations Park at Boys Ranch for residents. During the upcoming months, staff will also be evaluating opportunities for new amenities in the City’s other existing parks.
