The Wyoming Cowgirls will compete in the 2026 Mountain West Women’s Golf Championships from Tuesday to Thursday at Mission Hills Country Club, according to an April 20 announcement. The team enters the tournament with confidence following a strong spring season and recent individual and team achievements.

The championships matter as they offer teams a chance to secure an automatic berth in the NCAA Regionals, bringing them closer to competing for a spot in the NCAA Championships scheduled for May 22-27 in Carlsbad, California.

Freshman Kiley Reisner has led the Cowgirls this spring, recently winning the individual trophy at the Bobcat Desert Classic and helping her team finish fourth. Earlier this month, Reisner set a new program record with a score of 207 at the Cowgirl Classic. The University of Wyoming also posted two rounds of 292 during that event, tying for ninth-lowest team round score in program history.

Wyoming’s lineup includes senior Meghan Vogt, junior Elle Higgins, sophomores Kira Reisner and Emerson Purcell alongside Kiley Reisner. They are scheduled to tee off between 10:10 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday and will be paired with Nevada and San Diego State for the first round.

Head coach Josey Stender said, “The standard we have been talking about is we have to keep doing the things that we have been focusing on, which is being consistent with our process, our game plan. It’s a lot about 100 yards and in, feeling comfortable on the putting green.” Stender also said about tournament pressure: “I wouldn’t call it a bigger stage, but this tournament naturally has a different pressure to it being the conference championship. For us it is another opportunity to showcase what we’ve been working on as a team. I think if we do that, we can have a great result.”

Kiley Reisner previously won the Thunderbird Classic last month in Utah and became Wyoming’s first player since Kelly Meyers in 1989 to win two tournaments within one year. Jordan Lintz holds Wyoming’s record for most individual wins with three titles between 1998-2000.

This year’s field includes ten teams such as reigning champion UNLV and newcomer Grand Canyon University; San Jose State (ranked No.51), UNLV (No.66), Boise State (No.91), and San Diego State (No.95) are among those ranked nationally within the top hundred.
