The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced it will reconsider the 2009 Endangerment Finding, a policy from the Obama administration that classified greenhouse gases as a threat to public health and welfare. The decision has drawn support from Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), who has criticized the original finding for its impact on American energy sectors.
Lummis commented on the EPA’s move, stating, “The era of weaponizing environmental policy against American workers is over. President Trump and Administrator Zeldin have chosen prosperity, energy reliability, and common sense over the climate cult’s radical job-killing agenda. Today’s action is a major deal and recognizes that Wyoming coal, oil, and gas are vital American resources, not emissions to be regulated out of existence by unelected Washington bureaucrats.”
The reconsideration could lead to significant changes in how greenhouse gas emissions are regulated across industries such as coal, oil, and natural gas production.
