Five early-stage companies have been chosen for the 11th cohort of the gBETA Wyoming startup accelerator, according to an April 21 announcement. The group includes Innocorelix and SynerGas, both founded at the University of Wyoming, as well as Cheyenne-based Foodease and Solara Tech, and Jackson-based SoloStudies. These companies were selected from more than 40 applicants to participate in the free seven-week program designed to help startups grow and attract venture capital.
The selection highlights ongoing efforts to foster entrepreneurship and economic growth in Wyoming. gBETA Wyoming is operated by global venture capital firm gener8tor and provides intensive coaching, mentorship opportunities, access to a national network of investors, and continuous alumni support.
Innocorelix focuses on developing chemical compounds that combat fungal pathogens affecting crops. Eunsook Park, a University of Wyoming associate professor of molecular biology and co-founder of Innocorelix, said: “The foundation of Innocorelix grew directly out of our academic research at the University of Wyoming. The spark wasn’t necessarily a single farmer knocking on our lab door, but rather the overwhelming scale of the global agricultural crisis.” Park added: “Being selected for the gBETA Wyoming accelerator is a critical catalyst for Innocorelix. While our core technology is rigorously peer-reviewed and scientifically validated, gBETA will help us bridge the gap between an academic breakthrough and a scalable commercial business.”
SynerGas delivers scalable natural-gas power solutions for data centers seeking reliable energy beyond municipal grids. Co-founder Sylvanus Agosu said: “Being selected for the gBETA Wyoming cohort is a great opportunity for SynerGas. The program gives us the mentorship, network and structure to move from a validated concept to a pilot-ready project, helping us refine our business model, engage potential customers and accelerate real-world deployment.”
Other participants include Foodease with its AI-powered cooking robot; SolaraPod’s portable solar-powered refrigeration system; and SoloStudies’ adaptive reading platform supported by artificial intelligence.
Since its launch in 2020, alumni from gBETA Wyoming have come from 14 communities across the state, created over 230 jobs locally, and raised $42.7 million in follow-on funding after completing their programs—generating $58 in economic impact per dollar invested by Microsoft.
A public showcase event featuring pitches from these five startups will be held June 11 at Laramie County Community College Flex Tech Building in Cheyenne.
