The University of Wyoming Athletics, the UW Rodeo program, and Learfield announced on Apr. 22 a five-year extension to their existing partnership through Learfield College Rodeo. The collaboration, which began in 2019 and led to the official launch of Learfield College Rodeo in summer 2023, aims to support growth and innovation for the Wyoming Rodeo program.
The extended partnership is significant as it continues to provide advanced resources for fan engagement, branding, content development through Learfield Studios, and integration with student-athlete name, image and likeness (NIL) initiatives. These efforts are designed to create stronger connections between fans and brands at local, regional, and national levels.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Learfield College Rodeo,” said Wyoming Head Rodeo Coach Seth Glause. “Our student athletes here at the University of Wyoming are getting a high-level experience, not only in the classroom but also in the arena, thanks to the partnership we have built with Learfield College Rodeo. We will continue to build our program with the collaboration of our friends at Learfield College Rodeo, as they bring great value in branding and content along with the integration of student-athlete NIL.”
Randy Welniak, Deputy Athletic Director for Revenue and External Relations at UW said: “Learfield College Rodeo enhances the experience of our student-athletes here at the University of Wyoming. This partnership also gives the University of Wyoming one of the best in-arena experiences for our fans as we look to build on the success of this partnership over the coming years.” Since July 2023 under Glause’s leadership, both Cowboys and Cowgirls teams have continued their tradition as strong competitors within their region—amassing six National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association team championships alongside twenty-one individual titles.
As part of their renewed relationship with Learfield College Rodeo, UW’s rodeo teams will host their home event—the Laramie River Rendezvous—this weekend at Cliff and Martha Hansen Livestock Arena.
Brad Poe, Vice President & General Manager of Learfield College Rodeo said: “University of Wyoming Rodeo was our first collegiate rodeo program and we couldn’t be prouder to extend our partnership. What Seth Glause and the team there have built in the Cowboy State is impressive and our drive to continue to support their growth and championship experience is unwavering.” The division has focused on advancing college rodeos while celebrating western heritage since its inception.
