U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming has expressed her support for President Trump’s decision to select Kevin Warsh as the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Lummis, who chairs the Senate Banking Digital Assets Subcommittee, issued a statement in response to the announcement.

“Now more than ever, we need a Federal Reserve that embraces digital assets and financial innovation, not one that shuns advancement,” said Lummis. “I applaud President Trump’s decision and look forward to hearing Kevin Warsh’s plans to undertake needed reforms to the make the Fed more transparent and accountable to Congress.”

Lummis represents Wyoming in the United States Senate and has previously served in both chambers of Wyoming’s state legislature, as well as state treasurer and U.S. House Representative. She is known for supporting community service and family ranching traditions in Wyoming, according to her official website. Lummis also holds degrees in animal science, biology, and law from the University of Wyoming.

She became the first woman to represent Wyoming in the U.S. Senate in 2021 and has worked on legislative efforts such as preserving national forest trails through authoring relevant acts [source].
