Mayor Byron W. Brown announced today that in partnership with the Buffalo Landmark Illumination Team (BuffaloLIT), the city of Buffalo will continue to light Blue for the Bills this weekend in support of the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs at Highmark Stadium on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. From Wednesday, January 18th through Sunday, January 22nd, Buffalo City Hall and BuffaloLIT partners will be lit Blue from dusk to dawn.
Mayor Brown stated, “We shined Blue for the Bills last weekend, and in partnership with the Buffalo Landmark Illumination Team, we will continue to light the city of Buffalo Blue for the Bills this weekend in a show of support for the AFC East Champs as they move on in the playoffs. We are proud of our Buffalo Bills and hope this special lighting serves as another great signal to the city, and to the world, that the Bills are serious Super Bowl contenders!”
Mayor Brown also issued a reminder to Bills fans to stop by the signature selfie station at Buffalo City Hall, where giant, newly installed banners pay tribute to Bills Safety Damar Hamlin and the AFC East Champions. The banners are 9 foot wide by 17 foot long.
Additionally, he asked Bills fans to take part in the City of Buffalo’s MLK, JR. Day of Service Baby Clothing Drive, when they stop by the “selfie station”. From now until Friday, February 3, 2023, the city is collecting new baby clothes (Preemie up to 18 months) and baby items, such as diapers, wipes, formula, baby blankets, bibs, baby soap, lotion, wash, strollers, car seats etc., to help babies and mothers in need this winter season. - Buffalo Police B-District, 695 Main St.
- Buffalo Police C-District, 693 East Ferry St.
- Buffalo Police D-District, 669 Hertel Ave.
- Buffalo Police E-District, 2767 Bailey Ave.
- The Belle Center, 104 Maryland St.
- Delavan Grider Community Center, 877 E Delavan Ave.
- North Buffalo Community Center, 203 Sanders Rd.
- Northwest Buffalo Community Center, 155 Lawn Ave.
- Schiller Park Senior Citizens Center, 2057 Genesee St.
The donated items will be distributed to partnering organizations, including Our Mommie Village, The Priscilla Project, Every Bottom Covered, and Buffalo Prenatal and Perinatal Network.
