City of Buffalo recently issued the following announcement.

Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced that Arielle Rawls, PharmD, a Supervising Clinical Specialty Pharmacist at LeMed Specialty Pharmacy Buffalo, will be the featured guest on the next City of Buffalo Senior Connect Call, an easy to access tele-forum for Older Adults, launched in 2020. The next City of Buffalo Senior Connect Call will take place on Wednesday, March 9th, at 11 a.m. It’s easy to join. Call 1-888-636-3807. Then, punch in the code: 4777845#. Dr. Rawls will focus her discussion on informing the community about LeMed Specialty Pharmacy’s unique mission and services. A specialty pharmacy is a branch of pharmacy care that helps people with special and often long-term needs, including those with conditions like cancer, multiple sclerosis, organ transplants or sickle cell anemia.

Mayor Brown stated, “LeMed Specialty Pharmacy Buffalo is one of our community’s many great healthcare companies, which enables our residents to continue leading lives outside a hospital, with better outcomes and lower overall costs. I thank Dr. Rawls for taking part in the Senior Connect Call, which is designed to keep people connected and informed as we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

On the second Wednesday of each month, Deputy Mayor Dr. Ellen Grant and Division of Senior Services Director Doug Ruffin host the Senior Connect Call, a live tele call-in program to keep people up to date on important issues, as well as COVID-19 related information. Participants also have a great deal of fun, talking about health and wellness, fitness, books, favorite recipes and much more. Again, the next Senior Connect Call will take place on Wednesday, March 9th, at 11 a.m. It’s easy to join. Just call, 1-888-636-3807. Then, punch in the code: 4777845#.
