Rezoning Request for 606 Mitchell Street

City of Douglas recently issued the following announcement.

The Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission has received an application to rezone .55 acres at 606 Mitchell Street from Residential Mixed (R-M) to Residential Professional (R-P).   The Planning Commission will have their regular meeting regarding this request on April 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., which will be held at The Ashley-Slater House, located at 211 South Gaskin Avenue Douglas, GA 31533.  If the request is approved by the Planning Commission the recommendation for approval of the rezoning will go before the City Commission.  The City Commission will then hold the 1st public hearing for this request on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. and the 2nd public hearing will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 7:00 pm.  Both public hearings will be held at the C.E. Weir Center, 307 East Bryan Street Douglas, GA 31533.  The applicant wishes to rezone to Residential Professional to operate an afterschool program and medical certification program at this location.
