Notice Of Intent To Amend The Building Standards For Sheridan County, Wyoming

Wyo. Stat. §§ 18-5-201 to 18-5-207 authorize Sheridan County to promote the public health, safety, morals and general welfare of the county by regulating and restricting the location and use of buildings and structures and the use, condition of use or occupancy of lands for residence, recreation, agriculture, industry, commerce, public use and other purposes.

The purpose of the proposed amendments to the existing Building Standards for Sheridan County, Wyoming are 1) to adopt the 2021 editions of the following International Code Council codes, as amended: International Building Code; International Residential Code; International Mechanical Code; International Fuel Gas Code; International Plumbing Code; International Fire Code, 2) to retain the 1997 edition of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 3) to delete the 2015 edition of the International Energy Conservation Code, 4) adopt the most current publication of the International Code Council Building Valuation Data and 5) to adopt the National Fire Protection Association’s 2022 edition of the National Electric Code, all as amended.

The Board hereby gives public notice of its intent to amend the Building Standards for Sheridan County, Wyoming as proposed. Copies of the proposed amendments are available from the Sheridan County Commissioners’ Office or County Public Works Department, 224 S. Main Street, Sheridan WY. They may also be viewed on the county web site: www.sheridancounty.com.

The Board of County Commissioners shall hold a public hearing to receive oral comments on the proposed amendments on May 16, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Board Room, second floor of the County Courthouse, Sheridan WY. All interested persons may submit written comments to the Public Works Department, 224 S. Main Street, Sheridan WY 82801, no later than May 8, 2023.
