Men make up majority of population in Wyoming in 2021

Of the 576,641 people living in Wyoming in 2021, 48.8% (281,437) were women and 51.2% (295,204) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by Equality State News.

Data showed the average age for men in Wyoming in 2021 was on par with the national average of 38 for men. Meanwhile, Wyoming's female population stands at an average age of 39 years, placing them lower than the US average of 40.

According to census data, men aged 18 and over outnumbered women in the same age group by 12,228, totaling 178,931 individuals. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 46,969 men and 49,571 women.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau's American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
