The University of Wyoming announced on April 27 that a series of free wellness and de-stress events will be available to students from Monday, May 4, through Monday, May 11.

These activities are organized to help students manage stress as the spring semester concludes. Multiple university departments and organizations are collaborating to provide a range of opportunities designed to support student well-being during this busy period.

On the main floor of Coe Library, daily activities such as coloring, brain break games, puzzles, Legos, and crafts will be offered. Students can participate in a coloring contest by submitting their pages at the Coe Library help desk by May 11 at 5 p.m. Additional features include a StickTogether pixel puzzle and a guess-the-amount jar. The UW Wellness Center will provide massage chairs by appointment and maintain the Zen Den relaxation lounge on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., located in Room 107 of Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center. Guided fitness classes are also available through Campus Recreation’s FitDegree platform.

Students reserving study rooms during ‘Coechella’ can enter into the VIP Study Room raffle for chances to win prize bags or dinner for themselves and up to three classmates upon check-in at the library help desk. Special events hosted by UW Libraries include foot massage pods, craft kits, beverage breaks, bingo nights, journaling sessions, meditation workshops, puppy playdates, late-night cookies with story time sessions, STEP Finals-Stravaganza on Sunday in Coe Library level one, and more throughout the week across various campus locations.

A detailed schedule is provided for each day between May 4-11 with times and room numbers listed for each activity. For additional information about these wellness activities or assistance attending an event due to accessibility needs, individuals are encouraged to visit https://uwyo.libguides.com/virtualdestress or contact the UW Libraries Dean’s Office at (307) 766-3279.

These efforts reflect an ongoing commitment by university partners—including UW Libraries; Wellness Center; LeaRN; Writing Center; Associated Students of UW; UWIN Coe Makerspace; Residence Life; Financial Wellness & Outreach; and Wyoming Union—to promote student health during periods of academic stress.
