The University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network announced on May 14 that they will co-host a two-day online workshop for small-business owners, entrepreneurs, and startups focused on Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) proposals. The sessions are scheduled for Thursday, May 28, and Thursday, June 11.
The event aims to help participants gain expertise in preparing technical and cost proposals for SBIR/STTR programs. This training is relevant for businesses interested in submitting Phase I proposals to any of the eleven SBIR or six STTR agencies, with particular focus on the Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, and NASA.
Jim Greenwood will lead both sessions as part of a webinar titled “SBIR/STTR Proposal Lab – Two-Day Workshop.” Greenwood is co-owner of Greenwood Consulting Group Inc. He is described as a nationally recognized trainer who has taught SBIR/STTR workshops across most U.S. states as well as Puerto Rico and Washington D.C., offering training through various organizations including economic development groups, universities, federal laboratories, SBDCs and Manufacturing Extension Partnerships.
During the first session on May 28, Greenwood will cover program fundamentals and present a structured process for preparing technical proposals. The second session on June 11 will focus on completing this process by exploring key concepts related to building accurate project budgets through sound cost proposals.
The webinar is also supported by the Wyoming SBIR/STTR Initiative (WSSI), Montana Technology Innovation Partnership and IMPACT 307. Registration is free for both days. Additional support contacts are available for businesses located in Wyoming or Montana seeking pre-submission reviews or more information about the program.
