Wyoming Board of Agriculture schedules public meeting for April 13-14 in Cheyenne

The Wyoming Board of Agriculture will hold a public meeting in Cheyenne on April 13 and 14, with sessions scheduled at the Wyoming State Capitol Extension located at 200 W 24th Street.

The meeting is set to begin at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 13. During the first day, board members will elect a new President and Vice-President, set future meeting dates, review liaison assignments, discuss Conservation District appointments, hear Water Quality requests and reports, consider additions to declared Weed & Pest resolutions, discuss weed and pest rules, and receive an update from the Seed Lab before adjourning. The second day of the meeting will start at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 14. On this day, the board plans to appoint a State Chemist and hear updates from both the Wyoming Department of Agriculture (WDA) and industry partners. Additional business may also be addressed as needed.

The meetings are open to the public with opportunities for public comment each day. According to information released by organizers, times are tentative and subject to change without notice; if one topic finishes early, discussion will proceed directly to the next item on the agenda.

The Board of Agriculture is responsible for enforcing rules and regulations established by the Wyoming Department of Agriculture. It consists of seven members appointed by the governor for six-year terms representing different geographical areas across Wyoming. Current board members include Andrew Patricl (District 1), Jim Rogers (District 2), Kim Bright (District 3), Amanda Furnival (District 4), Mike Riley (District 5), Jody Bagley (District 6), and Larry Krause (District 7). Youth Board Members are Meredith Halweg (Southeast), Benjamin Anson (Northwest), Hadley Manning (Southwest), and Lexi Bauder (Northeast).
