The Wyoming Cowboys began their final week of spring football practice on April 21 at War Memorial Stadium. This marked the team’s 13th practice session as they prepare for the annual spring game, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The upcoming spring game will be held inside War Memorial Stadium, with gates opening at noon. Fans are asked to sit on the Lower East side of the stadium. Further details about events during the game are expected to be announced soon.

Head Coach Jay Sawvel said, “We came out today with a good mindset and attitude. The effort and intent defensively on Saturday was good and our offense responded Saturday as well. What showed up was we have a lot of players on defense that can run around and hit. We feel like we have a clear line on what we need to improve at. We are going to play offense vs. Defense on Saturday and will be a simple scoring system of the defense leading 21-0.”

This season, Wyoming returns several experienced players in the interior defensive line, including Jayden Williams, Tegen Seeds, Dante Drake, and Caleb Robinson. Williams had 24 tackles last season while Seeds added both a tackle and an interception. Drake recorded eight tackles in 2024 before being sidelined by injury, while Robinson has accumulated 43 career tackles for Wyoming.

Newcomers Ja’Quan Redfern and Tanielu Maafala-Barbasa join this group; Redfern made ten tackles last season at Murray State along with one sack and one tackle for loss.
