The Wyoming Cowgirls announced on April 16 that Kaylan Deveney, a transfer center from Rider University, has signed to join the team for the 2026-27 women’s basketball season.

Deveney’s addition is expected to strengthen the Cowgirls’ roster with her experience and defensive skills. She played three seasons at Rider, appearing in 70 games and averaging 4.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game during her collegiate career.

In her sophomore year at Rider, Deveney led her team in blocks and was ranked eleventh in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with averages of 0.8 blocks and 1.5 steals per game. Notably, she became the first player since 2016 at Rider to start as a true freshman in her debut game during the 2023-24 season.

Before college, Deveney attended Shawnee High School for three years before transferring to Life Center Academy for her senior year. At Life Center Academy, she contributed to winning a National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) Championship.

The signing marks another step by the Wyoming Cowgirls toward building their squad ahead of future seasons.
