The Wyoming Cowgirls will enter the Mountain West Tennis Championships as the No. 8 seed and are set to play ninth-seeded New Mexico on April 20 in Las Vegas.

This opening round match, scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mountain Time, marks a rematch between the two teams. Earlier this month, Wyoming secured a 4-1 victory over New Mexico in Albuquerque after overcoming an initial doubles loss by winning four consecutive singles matches. That win was also the last regular season victory for the Cowgirls.

Advancing past Wednesday’s contest would continue a longstanding streak for Wyoming, as the team has reached at least the quarterfinals of every Mountain West tournament since 2008. The winner of this matchup will go on to play top-seeded San Diego State on Thursday.

The tournament presents an opportunity for Wyoming to extend its record of consistent postseason appearances and build momentum against familiar conference opponents.
