Wyoming completed the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 16, wrapping up several Cowboy and Cowgirl athletic careers.

The Cowboys finished seventh overall with 42 points, while the Cowgirls placed twelfth with 13.5 points at the event held in Clovis, California.

For the Cowboys, sophomore Christian Edwards ended his season in the triple jump finals with a mark of 13.85 meters for ninth place. Sophomore Quinn Lindsay set a personal best in discus at 54.56 meters, earning eighth place and one team point. The men’s 4×100-meter relay team—freshmen Ryan Elsen and Chance Morris, sophomore Bridger Norton, and senior Carter McComb—secured fifth place in their race for four team points. Elsen also competed individually in the 100-meter dash final, finishing sixth with a personal-best time of 10.46 seconds, which ranks tied for fifth fastest in school history.

Senior Jacob White led Wyoming’s effort in the men’s 5,000 meters by finishing fifth at a time of 14:00.65 to earn four team points. The championship concluded for the Cowboys with their men’s 4×400-meter relay squad placing seventh at a time of 3:15.32.

On the women’s side, senior Elayna Chafee closed her jumping career by taking eleventh place in triple jump at her best mark since season start; sophomore Koi Adderley finished seventeenth before competing in high jump where she tied for eighth place and contributed half a point to the team’s total score. In relays, Cowgirls teams won their heats both times: first in the women’s 4×100-meter relay (eighth overall) and then again as junior Gabbreiella Mendoza-Molina led off their seventh-place finish (3:44.97) in the women’s 4×400-meter relay.

Wyoming will now await results from across its region to determine who qualifies for NCAA West Preliminaries scheduled from May 27-30.
