The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a prominent small business advocacy group, has published its biennial voting record for Wyoming's 67th State Legislature. This report highlights six key votes on issues critical to small business owners, such as property tax reform.
A total of thirty-eight members from Wyoming's State Legislature achieved a perfect score of 100% in their voting record. This includes six members from the Senate and thirty-two from the House of Representatives.
Tony Gagliardi, NFIB State Director, emphasized the importance of lawmakers understanding the challenges faced by Main Street when crafting policies that could affect business costs in Wyoming. "It’s critically important that lawmakers take the time to understand the issues Main Street faces when considering policies that could impact the cost of doing business in our state," he stated. He also noted that amid ongoing inflation concerns, NFIB members appreciate legislators' efforts to alleviate Wyoming's property tax burden: "As inflation continues to pose a serious challenge to small business owners and consumers alike, our members are grateful to the lawmakers who worked to reduce Wyoming’s property tax burden."
The NFIB Voting Record does not account for every factor considered by legislators during voting nor does it provide a comprehensive profile of each lawmaker. The 2024 Voting Record is based on six significant votes concerning small business interests.
